What does the Mammography Technologist Training Program entail?

Program participants go through 40 hours of classroom coursework as well as clinical training. Classes are held monthly for cohort groups. Trainees who have already completed 40 hours of coursework elsewhere will have an adjusted schedule of clinical training. It is employment-based training, which means you are hired and initially paid as a mammography technologist trainee. Because we provide paid training, acceptance to the program comes with a two-year employment commitment.

Where does the classroom training take place?

Depending on the number and geographical locations of the participants, the classroom training takes place either in our Solis Home Office in Addison, Texas, or virtually.

Is there a cost to participate in the Mammography Technologist Training Program?

No, in fact we pay program participants to train and cover all training expenses. You are paid a starting wage equivalent to your years of experience in radiology. Once you pass the ARRT mammography exam, you are eligible for a certification pay increase.

Who teaches mammography technologists in training?

The classroom training is a combination of online modules from various educational providers and facilitated discussion sessions with one of our clinical education program leaders who are experienced mammographers. For the clinical practicum, trainees work with a preceptor who is an experienced mammography technologist. Your preceptor guides your training progress and acts as your “coach.” They also are your official clinical experience verifier for the ARRT exam. You likely will work with other experienced technologists under the guidance of your preceptor.

How long does it take to complete the Mammography Technologist Training Program?

In six months, our program provides all clinical and educational requirements to earn ARRT advanced certification in mammography.
