Mammography guidelines are bound to change with the advent of new technologies and studies, said Connie Oliver, vice president of marketing and client relations for Solis Mammography. One major rule that is already being challenged is having an established cutoff age for stopping breast cancer. There are conflicting guidelines, but a study presented at the Radiological Society of North America annual meeting by Dr. Cindy S. Lee, assistant professor in residence at the University of California San Francisco, found there is no clear cutoff age to stop breast cancer screening.
