HOUSTON, Texas (July 23, 2018) – HCA Healthcare’s Gulf Coast Division and Solis Mammography, a specialized provider of mammography and screenings services, opened their 11th new mammography center at HCA-affiliated Pearland Medical Center on July 13, 2018. In addition, the partners plan to open a new Solis Mammography Center at West Houston Medical Center on July 27, 2018.

The first breast-dedicated screening and diagnostic center of its kind at Pearland Medical Center, Solis Mammography’s newest location offers the women of Pearland an enhanced patient experience, comfort during breast screening, increased image specificity, and a reduction in unnecessary recalls with its specialized breast health focus and expertise in 3D mammography.

Guided by a team of subspecialized breast radiologists and technologists, this new state-of-the-art mammography center offers a full range of services, including 3D breast screening and diagnostic mammography, computer-aided detection, breast ultrasound, stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound-guided biopsy, and bone density scanning, in an environment designed to promote relaxation and peace of mind. And it will provide new and enhanced patient advantages, including real-time online scheduling (24/7), in-center tablet registration, and emailed results, usually within 24 to 48 hours.
The new Pearland Solis Mammography Center is located in the medical office building adjacent to the hospital and is a department of Pearland Medical Center. The address is 10970 Shadow Creek Pkwy, Suite 190, with free surface parking available.

On July 27, Solis Mammography will launch a new state-of-the-art mammography center, a department of West Houston Medical Center, which will mirror the new Solis location in Pearland Medical Center. With a full range of breast health services, the center will be located inside the medical professional building adjacent to the hospital at 12606 West Houston Center Blvd., Suite 330 with free surface parking available.

Both centers are staffed by Rose Imaging Specialists, one of the largest groups of breast imaging specialists in the country. Rose Imaging radiologists have done extensive clinical research with 3D mammography, bringing the 3D technology to Texas.

“Solis Mammography and HCA Healthcare’s Gulf Coast Division share a common goal to provide high-quality, patient-focused care to women in the greater Houston area,” said Troy Villarreal, president of the Gulf Coast Division. “Together we will bring a heightened breast health focus to the communities we serve, as well as the peace of mind that comes from having an exceptional experience.”

“We know that 3D mammography increases early detection by 54% and decreases recall rates by 37%,” said Stephen Rose, M.D., Solis Mammography’s chief medical officer. “As of Jan. 1 of this year, insurance coverage of 3D in Texas is mandated by law. Our commitment to clinical excellence is designed to protect, improve, and treat the breast health of Houston women.”

Solis Mammography centers provide women greater access to upgraded technology, researched-based clinical protocols, convenient locations, and an enhanced center experience, including:

  • Seamless continuum of care through HCA Healthcare’s Gulf Coast facilities, if treatment is needed beyond screening and diagnostic imaging;
  • Exceptional clinical accuracy that comes from a dedicated focus on breast subspecialization (a practice shown to dramatically increase the accuracy of a mammogram);
  • The most advanced technology available, including 3D mammography, scheduling software, and data management;
  • Welcoming breast screening centers with patient-centered decor, music, artwork and aesthetics;
  • Improved patient conveniences, like ease of access, free parking, tablet registration, complimentary Wi-Fi, the ability to book appointments through real-time, 24/7 access to online scheduling (SolisMammo.com), and quick turnaround time in the center – typically less than 30 to 40 minutes. The centers also offer fast, exceptionally accurate results by email within 24-48 hours of the visit.

“Solis Mammography began in Texas over 30 years ago, and we’re excited to expand our partnership with HCA Healthcare’s Gulf Coast Division in the Houston area. Our mission is to provide an exceptional experience with exceptionally accurate results,” said James Polfreman, CEO and president of Solis Mammography. “Through this quality-focused, patient-centric collaboration, we’ll bring expanded, unparalleled, breast specialized care to local communities across the greater Houston area.”
